lehr.jpg The Giants apparently have zeroed in on a backup guard, but it’s not unrestricted Raider Corey Hulsey, who was in yesterday for a visit. It’s another of Bob Lattinville’s clients, Falcons guard Matt Lehr, and Lattinville expects to have a contract proposal to the Giants tomorrow morning.

Lehr, a seven-year vet out of Virginia Tech, has significantly more experience than Hulsey, having started 48 of 64 career games, including 11 last season at left guard. He started all 16 games for the Cowboys in 2003, and 15 for the Falcons in 2005.

At 6-2, 304, he’d make a decent depth addition. And the Giants, apparently, are willing to take a chance on him without benefit of a visit. They might be wise to talk to him before they come to contract terms, however. He sat out four games last year in violation of the league’s steroids policy.

Ciao for now.
