Final, Giants 16-3

Well, that was something. 12 sacks, six by Osi Umenyiora. Strahan gets the team career sack record. Umenyiora falls one short of Derrick Thomas’ single-game league record. The Giants tie an NFL record.
And the defense scored a touchdown.
Need we say more?
Go ahead. Tell me “I told you so” about that defense that handed out 80 points the first two weeks of the season and has now allowed one field goal over the last six quarters.
Ciao for now.

This was amazing. Was that the ‘62, ‘63’ or ‘86
Giants defense on the field last night?
There are no words that can describe how well
the defense played. A big win against a hated
Division rival, too.
But the kicking game? And the offense went into
the tank after Eli threw that INT.
The Giants should have won this game about 30-3.
But that’s on the offense and kicking game. The
defense was outstanding. They don’t look like
the same crew that played so poorly vs. Dallas
and Green Bay.
Wow, that was like the old days. That was even better than the old days, on defense. The offense, however, seemed to take a few steps backward.
Some sobering stats. The Eagles won time of possession, percentage of third down conversions (hard to believe), # of interceptions, net rushing yardage, and gross passing yardage, against a defense that was missing some key people.
The Giants were much better, but they need to keep improving.
The only thing that concerns me is how Eli seemed to wilt at the end of the second quarter with that terrible interception and poor second half. I root for him all the time, I want him to do well. And he started out so well, then spent the end of the 2nd qtr and the second half in a funk. Did he start pressing because the offense wasn’t scoring?I’m so glad the defense had such a strong game, but Eli and that poor excuse for a kicker really concern me
