Poll’s Closed

Our midseason grading poll is closed. Looks like you’ve toughened up as markers this time around. Of the 91 respondants, a whopping 71 handed the Giants a “B” despite them reeling off six straight wins. Looks like that 0-2 start really stuck in your minds.
Only 17 voters thought they did “A” work, and three apparent perfectionists offered “Cs”. Nobody went into the “D” and “F” classes. Would have loved to have seen the rationale behind one of those, however.
Thanks for participating. As a token of my appreciation and on behalf of The Journal News, we’d like to give all participants male and female, 18 years old and over, one vote each in the elections on Tuesday providing you are registered with your local Board of Elections. Please use it wisely.
I’m thinking we’ll give away a car with our next poll.
Going to take a little time off for the rest of the bye week. We’ll be back Monday.
Ciao for now.

Ernie Palladino

Ernie – enjoy the weekend. Will you be watching Pats vs Colts this weekend like the rest of us?
Russ:
I certainly hope to. Wasn’t that a great, great game last postseason?
Ernie – what game last season?
...
Had a strange dream the other night….Colts vs Giants in the SB at the end of this year, honoring the 50th anniversary of the greatest game ever played. This time round, Brandon Jacobs wins it in OT. He plunges over the left side of the line for a 23-17 victory after Col Coughlin eschews the Tynes 16 yrd FG attempt….only in dreams?
Russ:
You have strange dreams. Mine usually involve Cameron Diaz and a “Tiki”-bar. That’s as close to football as I get.
Ernie,
I like your article about Eli running. The Dallas defensive coordinator will have to take Eli’s running into account and it may lead to more open receivers. Eli just has to learn that it is not necessarily an either/or proposition. He can start to run, draw the defensive backs to him, and then throw.
The receivers also have to be on board here. They have to find an open spot and/or find someone to block when Eli runs. Gilbride needs to work on this during the remaining practice days. Failure to do so will lead to receivers standing around or blocking someone illegally during an Eli run.
