The NFL confirmed just a few minutes ago that the Giants’ playoff game in Tampa will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. It will be televised on FOX-Channel 5.
That to me is a darned sight better than Saturday at 8:15. The Giants will be given an extra day off as a result, and will begin practice in earnest on Wednesday.
Ciao for now.

The Giants should be very proud of what they accomplished on Saturday Night. Some things to look at: First, if they somehow make it to the Superbowl and play the Pats, they should remember what The Ravens knew. The weakness of the Pats pass defense is in the middle of the field. The Giants exploited this beautifully until Eli was intercepted on the left sideline late in the game. Second, Osi was repeatedly taken out of the pass plays by the Pats blocker who rode him ten yards past Brady. If Osi is not fast enough to rush around the blocker he must take an inside route or fall back into pass protection. Third, over the years the Giants have had a problem maintaining momentum late in the game. With 12:36 left in the fourth quarter, a 28-23 lead, and the ball, they had a chance to drive down the field and put the Pats away. Against weaker teams they have stalled, and forced the defense to stop the opponent over and over again. That won’t work against a team like the Pats. They must keep the pressure on. Gilbride must continue to be creative and the Giants must land that final blow. Great teams do it, Superbowl champions do it. The Giants are only one step away and they proved it on Saturday night.
hmmmmm….what do you think? Giants vs Skins in the NFC Champ game at the Meadowlands?? Giants finally win a home game and get a rematch against the Pats in the Bowl….one can dream….last nights effort will mean nothing if they dont beat Tampa. The day off helps…..lets get it on!!!!!
