Happy New Year

If you guys can drag yourselves away from college football for a few minutes to read this, here’s a New Year’s Day question.
How far will the Giants go in the playoffs?
Give me the rationale.
Ciao for now.

Unfortunately I say the Giants will be one and done for the third straight season. I don’t see the Giants being able to do much offensively against a good Bucs defense. With O’Hara out or at least very hobbled the Tampa Dline will be able to apply pressure up the gut which should rattle Eli. The penetration from the middle will also wreak havoc with our run game. On defense, when has this team ever been able to deal with Garcia? With injuries to Dockery and Madison we will have to suffer through an afternoon of watching Corey Webster getting burned – reminding us just how much of a dope Ernie Accorsi was as our GM.
P.S. Here’s hoping I’m eating crow late Sunday afternoon.
After this past Pats game ,I will give them an invite to the NFC Championship game,I believe they can beat the PACKERS and I think that Dallas has lost some MOJO.Of course its up to Eli whom every time I start to trust him he pulls the rug out from under us fans. We’ll see Sunday.Happy New Year to all.
Anyone who looks past the TB game is nuts. One of the best defenses in the league, a QB who drives the Giants crazy, an injured center and corner. I just hope that the media don’t portray this as a sure win for the Giants. It will be a brutal battle, which will be determined by mistakes, as usual (N.B. TB is great at causing turnovers).
Tampa is tough and has a lot of veterans that know how to win big games. But Tampa’s offense is ugly. Galloway is good but besides him they have little weapons. Graham is a nice RB but the Giants will stop him from running the ball effectively. I would worry more about Graham catching balls out of the backfield as he does that very well. Ike Hilliard never scared anyone when he was a Giant (although he was solid) I don’t think Ike is keeping Spags up at night now. Tampa’s D is very good but it is mainly their pass defense that scares opponents. They have a very avaerage run D and I think this is where the Giants will exploit them with B Jacobs and Bradshaw. Hopefully Eli will make plays when called upon but I think Coughlin knows running the ball will be key. Remember Eli played very well in last years playoff game.
Tampa starts out hot and maybe even goes up 10-0 as they are rested and full of energy but the Giants are a better team and will win this game by 7-10 pts when all is said and done.
Also, everyone gives the Gmen crap about playing a lousy schedule but lets say this: The NFC East was the best division in the NFC by far, 3 playoff teams and Philly was as hot as any team in the NFL to close the season. Only team to take care of Philly down the stretch was the GMEN in Philly!! Look who Tampa played…The FAlcons, Saints, Carolina….YUCK!! TAMPA will be tough and Gruden is a good coach with a ring but the Giants get it done on Sunday and move on to LAmbeau!! Yup, Lambeau! I think the Skins are rolling and will take down the HAwks on Saturday.
Like I said before, GMEN VS SKINS in the Meadowlands for the NFC title!!
Book it!!
Nud —If you’re right, then the ticket office will
have to do a rapid-fire job to get the invoices out.
If the “good” Giants show up Sunday, they will beat the
Bucs by 7-10 points. But the team is so inconsistent
I think it’s impossible to say what will happen.
That’s the kind of skepticism this team has caused
ever since that horrible playoff collapse in San
Fran (vs. Garcia again) in January 2003.
They looked great vs. the Pats for most of the
game, but which offense will show up in Tampa?
Also, the defense has a reputation of not standing
tall when they really have to. We’ll see.
Ernie it all depends on if the good giants show up or the bad giants..The good giants played new england to the end and can beat anybody but the bad giants couldnt even beat syracuse college football team..thats why we love are G-men..You just never know…But I will be watching the game Sunday..
if the giants dont get a healthy madison bak for this game they will be in deep deep deep deep trouble
