Could Be Better

Not outstanding news on the injury front. LB Kawika Mitchell (knee), C Shaun O’Hara (knee), and CB Sam Madison (abdominal) were all on the sidelines, though O’Hara did execute some snaps to backup quarterback Anthony Wright during special teams drills. Mitchell looks like a longshot to play, and O’Hara appears to be creeping toward borderline and a gameday decision.
Worse news is that Kevin Dockery (hip flexor) stayed on the sideline after getting back to practice the day before. If he and Madison both can’t make it, it will leave Mr. Bullseye, Corey Webster, starting at right corner, with R.W. McQuarters coming in on the nickel and just-signed practice-squadder Geoffrey Pope on the dime. Just what the Giants need at this point, Webster giving Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard 15-yard cushions and then missing a tackle, anyway.
Who knows, though. Maybe Webster will come up with another interception return for a touchdown, proving once again the blind squirrel and acorn theory. One thing is for sure. With the Tampa Bay defense, if the Giants get down early, they’re not going to come back through the air. And that means they probably won’t come back at all.
Questions? Concerns? Opinions?
Ciao for now.

Opinion? Yeah, Madison and/or Dockery better be on the
field. Or maybe #22 Dick Lynch will come down from the
radio booth. I think Alex Webster would be better
than Corey Webster. This could be a problem.
Also, on a related subject, good ol’ Leaky Tiki
Barber plans to be on the Bucs’ sidelines Sunday.
He should stay there—he’s not welcome on the
Giants’ sideline. He already burned all those bridges
big-time with the players, the management and
the great majority of the fans.
like ive been saying if madison and dockery dont play were screwed i think grey regumer is a solid backup at center and will do fine( even tho i think ohara will play) and wilkenson at times may even be an upgrade from mitchell( outside runs and pass coverage). theres no depth at corner and if madison and dockery dont play the giants will be in serious danger, even tho the bucs passing attack is average at best. i thought madisons injury wasnt serious…. y the hell has he missed two practices
Weren’t the Giants in this spot last year, key injuries going into the first playoff game? I hope it doesn’t lead to the same result.
difference is last year the giants werent so good this year there is alot of hope which for me is fading with the injury report
What has happened with Michael Johnson?
Johnson is a safety, not a corner. At safety, James Butler still starts ahead of him.
