Injury Update

January
18

Okay, here’s the lowdown. Kevin Dockery was proclaimed out by Tom Coughlin after failing for a third straight week to recover from that strained hip-flexor. He’ll miss his third straight game.

Don’t get hopeful about Sam Madison, either. He sat the entire practice with his strained abdominal, meaning he hasn’t done much of anything this week. Coughlin said he’s still optimistic about him playing, but that might just be a little something to keep Green Bay occupied in preparation. I’ll be surprised if he isn’t on the inactive list on gameday.

Everybody else looks like full go.

Ciao for now.

from wat i get from coughlin maybe they dont want madison to really engage in contact and their for thats y he hasnt practiced, maybe hes been getting dressed just so he can be outside do some walk thrus and understand the gameplan. he his an old acomplished vet and he really doesnt need to practice a whole lot. maybe the doctors feel one more day of healing can really help him, and tomm wen the giants come in for a walk thru maybe theyll test out madison by having some one on the practice squad run some routes agianst him. we only need him in the nickle and dime so stamina shouldnt be to much of an issue. either way we all have to be optimistic about madison or else we culd be in big trouble, even pope admits he expects alot of balls coming his way if he plays in a large role

it sucks dockery cant play i really think he will be the next giant shut down corner, probaly the first simce sparks, i think dockery will be more of a star then ross. im a huge dockery fan and i miss the little man on the field

  3. teetime

Ernie, Who’s ailning on the Packers?

  4. teetime

    Sorry thats AILING

  5. Ernie Palladino

    Teetime:

The only questionable for the Packers is CB Will Blackmon. All the others—Nick Barnett, Koren Robinson, Bubba Franks, Scott Wells, and Charles Woodson—are probable. So they’ll go in pretty near full strength.

    Hey Ernie;
Do you think the G men actually have a snowballs chance? The game will be all wrapped up in the 3rd quarter. Any of you New Yorkers coming to Lambeau on Sunday, better dress warm and behave in Lambeau as this is holy ground and we don’t put up with any bullsh*#. We eject or arrest anyone that gets outta hand. And that includes our own fans. And bring cash because the only atms are in the Atrium. See you Sunday!!!!

  7. GiantsFan

Should be fun watching Brett Favre looked like the old guy he really is. Go GMEN!!!!!! Boston Vs. New York in the super bowl.

  8. GiantsFan

oh and it’s no big deal if Madison doesn’t play. R.W McQuarters is a veteran corner and I believe he already has 2 interceptions during the playoffs this year? Ross should be able to keep up with every Packer wide out. It makes me sick how 99 percent of the people out there are saying the Giants will lose. You guys do know Brett Favre has had some horrible games this season and with Straham, Osi, and Justin Tuck coming after him and in possibly snowy conditions it could be a long day for Brett. Sure Grant was great last week and has been amazing and people think he’s gonna be amazing against the Giants. It will be funny when he has around 50 yards rushing on Sunday. Seriously people, stop counting out the Giants!!!

  9. packerfan

Did you see any of the Packer game last week. It was like a blizzard all day long and we killed the Seahawks. Thank you for Ryan Grant by the way. He should be smiling ear to ear when the Packers beat the G men. Will Ross be covering all five of our receivers at once? And don’t forget that Favre gave Strahan his sack record or he wouldn’t have got it. It’s -35 with the wind chill today and tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. Welcome to Lambeau in January.

    Reality check—
In his last seven playoff games,
Brrrrrret Favre has thrown 16 INTs,
11 TDs, and his QB rating is 56.0.

  11. baagaa18

Well said Del 85. I feel that Favre is as likely to lose a game for the Pack as is he to win one.

It is amazing that AGAIN nobody is picking the Giants to win. Can’t wait to see the gIants put a beat down on the young Pack team that folded like a cheap suit in the -3 degree temps in Chicago. Please bring on your 5 wide sets and when Farvre throws a missle to one of them that bounces offf their helmet and Corey “Spiderman” Webster takes it to the house and mocks all you cheeseheads with a Lambeau leap all us GMEN fans will be smiling ear to ear. The colder the better…...The Gians will be better prepared for the conditions….If Ryan Gran were a Giant he’s be #4 on our depth chart if Ward was healthy.
All the so called experts like Jimmy Johnson, Terry Bradshaw and all those other no talent wanna be broadcasters will all pick the Pack just like the all picked against the Giants the first 2 rounds. Go to ESPN.com and look at their “so called expert” picks-All 10 of them have Green Bay winning!! I love it!!

Also, I am I the only one starting to hate Green Bay and all this LAmbeau, Farvre, destiny, Ice Bowl, cold cold cold weather?? Green Bay wouldnt even have a team if it werent for Wellington sharing the wealth back in the day. Green BAy is a dump. Nothing to do but root for the Packers and eat cheese. I do like cheese though…....

    GAME ON!!!

  15. Del 85

Nobody is mentioning, either, at least that
I have seen, that the Giants went into the
Lambeau Shrine in Oct. 2004 and beat the Packers,
14-7. Any number of Giants have been at Lambeau
before, either with the Giants or with other teams
they played on. Eli was the backup QB to Warner
that day, but he was there.

All the Lambeau stuff is great…this is two
of the old-time premier franchises playing.
No Tampa Bays, or Seattles, or whoever.

That “big game” feeling would exist at any
stadium tomorrow because it’s for the Championship.

Nud is correct about Wellington (and brother Jack)
Mara and the revenue sharing, which was Pete Rozelle’s
brainchild. The old-line owners saw the LEAGUE
    was the most important thing.

Quite a change from today and Jerry Jones and
    Dan Snyder, for example.

  16. Dix37

WOW! The Giants beat the Packers in 2004! Oh wait that is utterly pointless.

Perhaps my math is bad, but 3 (quasi)healthy corners against 5 healthy receivers seems like a mismatch. Even if they roll out Madison that still leaves 1 receiver with a huge mismatch.

No one in the Giants media or the fans ever adress that, other than to say that because Ross is back they will be fine. That is blind to reality. Why doesn’t the Giants media even write about the huge mismatch? Tha Packers media writes about the Giants front 4 and the Giants running game.

The average Giants fan doesn’t even know that there are even Packer players beyond Farve and Grant. Wise up, that Packers lead the league in yards after catch and the Giants need more than the DB’s they have.

Giants…pray for wind, and lots of it.

  17. Del 85

Seems you are providing plenty of wind,
in the form of hot air.

The point about the 2004 game was in reference
to the “shrine” of Lambeau. The point was not
that the Giants won, but that many Giants have
been in Lambeau before, either as Giants or as
    members of other teams.

The point was that they won’t be as intimidated
by the “shrine” as some think they will be.

Your hero, Brrrrettt, has had some poor playoff
games in the last seven. Ryan Grant may turn
out to be a big fumbler, like Tiki Barber was
for years until Coughlin and his staff fixed him.

Giants….23-20. Enjoy your bratwurst and limburger.

  18. big blue wrecking crew

hey dumbass above me wat teams actually have 4 great corners neway, u big retard, thats the dumbest thing i ever heard. were excited to get madison and ross back because that gives us 4 quality corners, do u think ne coach is scared of the 5th wide receiver no… koren robison omg im so scared wat a mis match that 5th wide receiver is really gonna rip us apart to bad hes on the field 5 plays the whole game. most team dont even use 5 corners idiot they just put a safety or a linebacker on them because guess wat their 4th and 5th on the depth chart for a reason.

see we havent talked about that because its not important and it retarted see in ny we have a good enough team were we dont need to talk about our 4th and 5th wide receivers to say how good we r… be a man and say my number 1 guy is better then ur number 1 guy and is going to rip him a new one, dont bring up a 5th wide receiver and try to scare us

  19. big blue wrecking crew

with that giants pass rush and mr. reliable brett favre(reliable to make a big mistake) corey webster aaron ross gibril wilson and sam madison ( if he plays) r all gonna have shut down games and shut everyone up because no matter how good they play (aka last week and the week before) they always get critized about how they r the giants achilles heal and r finally gona fold this weekend… well u no wat it hasnt happned yet and it isnt happening this week either. giants 24- brat pack 14 favre throws 3 ints

  20. Dix37

I just figured it out, though I needed an Idoit to English translater before I could get there. I, and most people who have a first grade education, are not used to people trying to sound smart at the same time using words like “wat”, “gona”, “newey”, and my favorite “ne”.

Idiots mistakenly write what they wish will happen then call it a prediction or worse analysis. That, or your mommies don’t know you are playing on the internet.

I’m ready now for the all the well thought out replies, like nah uh, or I know you are but what am I, or I’m rubber and you are glue. But, I’ll consider the source.

  21. big blue wrecking crew

well im sorry dix 37 that you dont get out much and dont understand everyday internet lingo, last time i checked it was ablog and i wasnt handing it in to my colege professor, “neways” its not just a teenage lingo or a un-educated persons lingo, actually many writers, journalists, and business people use the lingo when in a rush because most “educated” people can pick up what it means. its funny how your only comeback is about how i write and now how little you no about the game and that you think because the packers have 5 wide receivers and the giants have only 4 corners that its a mismatch. thats funny because when i did some research last night nearly half of the nfl teams dont carry a 5th corner on their roster, instead they use an extra safety because safetys are usually a little better on specials. so im not saying the giants are a great team or there going to win like you think i did with my ” bad analysis” i just said your reasoning for a mismatch in the secondary was the practically the dumbest thing i ever ever ever ever ever ever ever heard in my life. if madison doest play and ross isnt 100 percent then maybe you have an advantage but if all but one player doesnt play, that is not a mismatch.

-big blue wrecking crew to a fan of the brat pack
