Oh, And Did I Mention…

that the University of Phoenix Stadium is not what it’s cracked up to be? The outside is supposed to pay homage to the cactus, but it just looks like an overgrown warehouse with a retractable roof. All drab gray. Might as well be a Costco. Ugly if you ask me.
Inside’s not bad, and I like the idea of a retractable field. The natural grass looked long and lush, and should stand up well.
By the way, looking for help. Anybody know what conference UOP plays in? I’m thinking small, but diverse.
Ciao for now.

The Big West, though the school dropped its football program in the mid 90’s.
Oh…
You were talking about the University of Phoenix. I thought you meant a real school like the University of Pacific (Lionel Manuel anyone?)
“Anybody know what conference UOP plays in? I’m thinking small, but diverse.”
Ernie,
UOP has no football team. The University of Phoenix does not have an athletic department or any official sports teams at all (or even a mascot).
It is important to note that the University of Phoenix name is applied as a corporate sponsor, and not as the home stadium of the University.
The University of Phoenix is geared toward working adults who already have full time jobs and are either advancing their degrees or trying to move into a different field. Classes are typically held in the evening with a focus on bachelors and masters degrees in business, accounting, computers and education.
Now a question for you: Will Shockey be at the game?
Kyoto:
Guess the sense of humor was too subtle. I know it’s basically an on-line and night-class university. As for Shockey, don’t know. He’s not here yet, and I’m thinking he’ll just stay home because he feels so lousy about his season ending prematurely. I think he should show up, though, because he’s still a member of the team.
Ernie, too subtle, yes
Meanwhile, Shockey owes it to himself and the team to be at the game—and just hope he is not sending a not too subtle message to everyone with a no show. Shockey, you’re bigger than that, aren’t you?
Shockey has said he IS going to the game, and
with his mother too, because it is her birthday.
Ernie, why don’t you have someone track down
Philippi Sparks? He’s out there…from there…
and his daughter Jordin is singing the National
Anthem. Why? Because she won American Idol last
year…a Fox show, and this game is also on Fox.
You could ask Philippi Sparks about the meltdown
in the ‘97 playoff game vs. the Vikes. You know,
how the Giants at home blew a 9-point lead with
less than 2 minutes to go. Horrible.
The defense had a big role in that one. It was
another Fassel-team collapse.
But I don’t think that will happen this Sunday.
do they at least have an online fantasy football league at the university of phoenix?
