All But Done

March

knight.jpgTold you it wouldn’t take long to get a resolution on this Sammy Knight thing. A little bird told me that by the end of business, he should be signing a three-year, $5 million contract with the Giants that contains a $1 million signing bonus and a few other minor bonuses.

So you can officially cross off Eugene Wilson from the list. Knight is the guy they wanted all along, and he’s coming.

The Giants have no other free agent visits planned as of now, but that could change.

Also, the Giants should be announcing Tom Coughlin’s new deal in the next day or so. Won’t be a big deal, though. We’ve been talking four years, about $20 million since the Super Bowl and I’ll be surprised if it comes out significantly different than that.

Ciao for now.

if i where jerry reese i would sign sammy knight, i would trade our first round pick and one of our 6th round picks to atlanta for d hall. i would also try and snag boss bailey of the lions to add depth to our linebackers because we lack players in that department. in the draft i would use our second round pick and draft a wide receiver because the draft is very receiver heavy, talent will be avaible in the second round. also we should add a safety and defensive tackle and another linebacker in the later rounds. possibly a running back if we can get a steal like bradshaw especially if ward leaves, because jacobs is very injury prone and who knows if bradshaw can handle the every down load yet
