So the Patriots just charged onto the field a moment or three ago.
I don’t think anybody noticed.
Along with some of the guys nursing bumps and bruises, Tom Coughlin is making this an easy night for a lot of the Giants top-shelf players.
Don’t expect to see LB Danny Clark (groin), OL Na’Shan Goddard (concussion), LB Jonathan Goff (back), LB Antonio Pierce (back), CB Terrell Thomas (hamstring) PK Lawrence Tynes (knee). QB Eli Manning, TE Kevin Boss, WRs Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer, T Kareem McKenzie and DE Justin Tuck are going to watch.
David Carr is starting and is expected to go three quarters. Andre’ Woodson is scheduled to play the fourth.
(Update 7:18 p.m.): The 26-yard touchdown pass from David Carr to Darcy Johnson was the first reception by a tight end since Game 1 of the preseason. Brandon Jacobs also looked ready to go during the nine play, 80-yard drive. And before I forget, Mathias Kiwanuka got parked in his tracks by New England tight end David Thomas on the first play from scrimmage.
(Update 8:02): Domenik Hixon, who’s been the workhorse at WR since training camp, left the game with back spasms and is heading for the x-ray room. … Josh Huston just hit the left upright on a PAT attempt. Oops. I’m thinking he might want to keep the suitcase handy.
(Update 8:35): What do you think of David Carr? His quarterback rating in the first half was 139.9, which ain’t bad with all of the shuffling. Carr complete 11 of 14 for 113 yards and two TDs.
(Update 9:13): I’m guessing they are giving Carr a chance to finish off this drive. He’s been giving the Giants scoring opportunities all night. … And Huston just made it 19-0 from 30 yards away. … Mario Manningham looked awesome on the one-handed grab. Then he looked surprised on a drop over the middle. … Carr is probably done. He completed 18 of 27 attempts for 180 yards and two TDs.

This game is for the backups to prove who is #2 and who is more down the list. What about Snee is he playing? I didn’t notice.
Carr looked pretty decent on that drive.
Any good kickers out there?

Carr had a good game. Feel a little better about the back-up QB situation.
