The lights are down and Ozzie Smith is bringing the Rams onto the field.
You read that right.
I’m thinking St. Louis might be the only place in America where they have to use baseball to sell football. There are plenty of Giants fans here, but not enough to drown out the boos when the players came out in their visiting whites. Since the players feed off that reaction, it’s probably a good way to get started.
Keep the computer handy during the game. Join the conversation. Back later with more.
(Update 12:14 p.m.): Where is everybody? I know it rained a ridiculous amount this morning, but we’re all dry under the dome. And still, a third of the seats are empty. Give the crowd size, the noise in here is unbelievable when the Giants are in third-down situations. Turn up the volume.
(Update 1:21): That was almost too easy. Eli Manning had to step up to avoid the rush when Kevin Boss whiffed on his block, and Plaxico Burress was downright lonely heading for the post. Rams S Oshiomogho Atogwe was apparently lost in his thoughts.
(Update 2:12): Wow, a pair of 54-yard field goals. Not bad. While the Giants made a third-down stop Kenny Phillips didn’t hang onto Steven Jackson who picked up a couple of extra yards to help St. Louis kicker Josh Brown. Derrick Ward probably deserves a couple of extra carries in the second half since Brandon Jacobs has only snapped off a couple of sizable gains.
(Update 2:24): Halftime. It seems the Giants are convinced they can get deep, but it seems a little odd that Amani Toomer is the guy Eli Manning keeps going to down the field. He’s a step too slow. Moving the ball isn’t an issue, still the Giants have one touchdown and two field goals. Sound familiar?
(Update 3:17): We’re heading into the fourth, and the St. Louis fans are struggling to find something the cheer about. The Giants defense has not given up a touchdown in the last four quarters of play. The Rams keep on negating big plays with silly penalties.
(Update 3:47): Over and out. Justin Tuck reached up for the ball and gathered it in, rambling 45 yards for the finishing touch. He’s played quite a game. The previous scoring drive, given the 20-13 score, was the most impressive of the season. And who played a starring role? Amhad Bradshaw. Where’s he been all season? I may check in after the locker room, or not. I have a flight at 7:40 p.m. so this is going to be one heck of a personal two-minute drill.

Eli hasn’t looked comfortable every since the easy one to plax.
We need to get Smith involved and also get Moss a few down the field.
cut tynes, keep carney
“Where has he been all season”??? It was the 2nd game!
