What a difference a year makes

I was getting ready for Knicks training camp about this time last year so I wasn’t up close and personal with the Giants, but I seem to remember a lot of people calling up radio talk shows and screaming until they were Big Blue in the face.
The 0-2 start rattled the faithful.
And the defense had surrendered 45 points to the Cowboys and 35 points to the Packers, which by the way turned out to be pretty good teams last season.
They are 2-0 right now.
And the defense has has only given up seven points to Washington and 13 points to St. Louis, which both appear to be dealing with growing pains.
So is that it?
Maybe the Giants are in a better place because of the level of competition. What do you think?

Well, the Redskins got a big win yesterday, so they’re not in as much of a dire situation as the Rams are. To be honest though, the schedule through the beginning half of the season is one of the easiest in the league. Cincy, who stinks. Seattle, who I’ve been saying all along is bad because of their O-line, and now their awful receiver situation. Cleveland, who has a decent offense, but their defense is horrible and Derek had a bad day yesterday, showing against a good De he’s no match. San Francisco, who stinks (2 words, JT O’Sullivan). Then it gets a bit harder with Pittsburgh and Dallas, 2 elite teams. I think those 2 games will be the test of the season, maybe even a make or break 2-game stretch
You were covering the Knicks last year? Yikes. Now that team is a train wreck.
The Giants are just a good team. They act like a team and seem to believe in the coaching staff. If they can do what they are suppose to do, they can kick anyone’s butt imo.
Mike,
I certainly hope you continue to cover the NYK. You are the voice of reason in a sea of reporters who only want to ‘hate on the team. You will be wasted covering the Giants. They are going to be a great team this year and that is good. But, as far as covering them goes, boring. You’ll be just another bandwagon writer. One of many, many, many writers covering the Giants. Come back to the Knicks where things will be interesting, if nothing else. In any event good luck and best wishes.
