On your mark, get set …

Anybody foolish enough to linger in the locker room doorway this morning immediately learned what it was like to be Marc Bulger and Carson Palmer.
Tom Coughlin instructed his players to be safe and smart, then it was off to the races.
“We want them to enjoy themselves, take care of themselves, rest, use good judgment, be careful, and then keep your eye on the weather because we have work to do on Monday,” he said.
A couple of guys stuck around to offer a few words of wisdom. There are stories to write, afterall. Mario Manningham conducted his best interview of the season. The rookie wideout was praised yesterday for showing promise in practice, and might wind up on the active roster next weekend for the first time.
Still no word on when Plaxico Burress is going to arbitration to get his suspension overturned.
On that subject, Justin Tuck offered a pearl.
“Sometimes distractions are a good thing,” he said.
Huh?
“They are,” Tuck continued. “We’re just going to rally behind him and play football. It’s just tough being in that situation, is what I’m trying to say, because you love your teammate, but obviously there were some situations that (Burress) and the coaching staff got into that they didn’t really appreciate, and they felt this was the measure they needed to take and they took it.”
Antonio Pierce spoke to Burress.
“He’s in high spirits,” the linebacker said. “He’s excited to get back, ready to get back. Hopefully he’ll get back sooner than later.”
