Plaxico Burress was instructed to report back to work early this morning after serving his one-game suspension, and showed up right on schedule.
He did some conditioning work alongside teammates, lifted weights and is now free to enjoy two days off.
“I did speak with him this morning, and it all appears that he’s ready to go,” Tom Coughlin said.
Unless something ridiculous or unforseen happens later this week in practice, Burress will be in the starting lineup next Monday in Cleveland.
“We’ll see,” Coughlin said. “That’s something I hadn’t really thought about or discussed. I should’ve anticipated it. I would say right now, yes.”
Burress is expected to be part of a conference call shortly.
Domenik Hixon and Kareem McKenzie were both looked at this morning, as well.
“They’re a little bit improved today,” Coughlin said. “Hopefully, with the extra day, they’ll be cleared.”
