I’m wondering if all the folks decked out in Giants apparel this morning at breakfast packed a different shirt in case of a loss.
So did you rest easy?
I’m not getting caught up in pretty or ugly this week because Pittsburgh is a strong defensive team. The concern is finding a way into the end zone. And that doesn’t mean every trip into the Red Zone has to result in a touchdown. They do have to find a way to increase the percentage, however.
Stat of the game: The Steelers were 1 for 10 on third down and both teams get credit for that.
Pittsburgh was awfully banged up by the end of the game. It makes you realize how fortunate the Giants have been this season on that front. It was a huge blow losing Osi Umenyiora, but there have been no other major issues.
Are you worried about the running game?
It was interesting to hear Plaxico Burress explain away the latest miscommunication. Yes, he apparently needs a special invitation to follow up on treatment plans.
Do you wonder if he’s ever going to get with the program?
“I don’t know, man,†Burress said. “I’m just trying to get on the same page, so to speak. The only thing I can do is treat it like a grain of sand and brush it off.â€
Right. He’s never going to change, and it’s probably not a major issue until the Giants lose a couple of games.
That’s it for now. Off to the airport. I leaving town before the flakes start to fly.

I’m more worried about the Plaxico situation. Can he please shape up and get with the program?
I thought it was a great game yesterday.
I’m definitely NOT worried about the running game. I give the running game credit for the last TD drive for the Giants. The Steelers defense was incredibly worn out, and it was because Coughlin stuck with his game plan even though the yards weren’t necessarily being produced on the ground. The Giants RB’s pounded it down the Steelers throats, and ultimately caused them to get incredibly worn down.
Giants running game is fine, and in my opinion still working.
