Carr takes off running

Getting a number of snaps for David Carr yesterday was all part of the grand plan.
You know, just in case.
Eli Manning is a durable quarterback, but it never hurts to have a backup plan. Carr did fine during the second half, completing 8 of 11 passes for 110 yards and one touchdown. The former No. 1 pick showed off the mobility that kep
t him alive in Houston, picking up 15 yards on three carries.
“He made a couple of nice scrambles, we’re not used to that,” Shaun O’Hara said at the expense of Manning. “I thought he looked good. He looked fast.”
What about that Super Bowl escape?
“I would hardly call that a scramble,” O’Hara said.
Tom Coughlin wanted everyone involved against Minnesota, knowing that a run of good health could end suddenly in the playoffs. Now there’s little reason to panic.
“For sure,” Carr said. “It couldn’t hurt. Hopefully, it helps the guys around me, too. They’ve got some confidence in me if I do have to go in at some point.”
I’m waiting for a connection in Chicago now, and will be online with more after we get done with the conference calls. Stay tuned.

Do you guys think that Carr is outta here after this season? Dude made himself some money yesterday. He is a luxury to have as a backup QB and I can’t see a guy this good holding a clipboard for another season. There are going to be several teams in the market for a #1 QB, including the Jets.
MJ,
I always have said this, even before Carr was with the Giants. If you put him with a good team and more importantly an above avg O-Line he would be a good QB in this league. He has so much talent. And yes I said this to my co worker today I wouldnt be surpirsed if the Jets made a run at him.
We have to see what the market is like. His agent is doing the research now, but Carr says he enjoyed this season because of the winning atmosphere and would consider a return engagement.
“MJ” makes a good point, but then again would you rather hold a clipboard on a winning team or get your head handed to you somewhere else??
You can be one of the best “QB’s”, but without a front line you’re nothing as he found out once-twice before. I’d sit tight!
I changed my vote, Burress will be back! Hixon and Smith can’t make that corner route catch! that could have won game for us!

Don’t forget about your guy Boss there. He’s got some vertical ability. He is the red zone guy now, and was no doubt missed on Sunday.
Mike!! 10-4 on that!!! But after the look on Eli’s face after that missed opp, he was thinking : if only that was Plax!!!! I think that he’ll make the plea for his long-ball “sure-thing” receiver to return!!!
But with a “GPS” on his neck at all times!
Whats on tap for you this week and next???
