Steve Smith did not practice this afternoon because of Achilles’ tendinitis, but he expects to be available when the Giants come back on Wednesday to begin game planning.
Until then, he’ll be stopping by for daily treatments.
“I’m going to definitely be out there next week,” Smith said.
To facilitate the rest and rehabilitation so badly needed, Tom Coughlin gave the Giants the weekend off. Anybody who’s dealing with a medical issue will be here at the stadium for a quick once over and treatment.
Justin Tuck (lower leg), Kareem McKenzie (back) and Michael Johnson (thigh) were able to practice. Brandon Jacobs (knee) and Domenick Hixon (foot/ankle) watched the proceedings. It’s unclear whether they will be ready to go on Wednesday.
“I’m encouraged,” Coughlin said. “But rather than say something that comes back to haunt me, we will just have to wait and see. I’m hoping that some of the guys can get back.”

i have a question, not about steve smith or spags.
why are so few people commenting on this blog? if you take a look at the yankee lohud blog it is massive, i think pete abraham does a great job same with mike d. but where the heck are the rest of the giants fans?????
oh now onto steve smith.
this is one player we can not afford to lose on offense. he has become the security blanket for eli on third down. he is very important to our offense. man i hope he this doesnt hinder his performance.
I’m here, that makes 2 of us.
Seriously though, we need way more people here. Pete tried to publicize the blog but no one really bothered to check it out(but me)
Hey I’m here everyday!!! Mike needs to post some of these comments in his weekly column!!! The web-cast was fun but again not enough people chimed in and I felt like I was hogging air-time to fill in time???? “TJN” needs to promote this blog better! Starks is right! the Yankee and Jets? blog gets lots of wide spread people on it!!!???
Also Mike post’s to many openings in one day, he needs to calm that down so we can catch up with him! Also Mike it wouldn’t hurt to jump in here, it is your Blog!
