Here come the Eagles

There’s nothing like a playoff meeting to keep a rivalry alive.
Nobody in the Giants’ locker room would state a preference, for obvious reasons, but I sense they wanted to go head-to-head with Philadelphia one more time. It’s probably the most difficult matchup possible this week. Still, there’s a little unfinished business here.
It’s undoubtedly going to provide inspiration.
The Eagles came up here and won 20-14 last month, inspiring all kinds of worry about Eli Manning and the stumbling offense here.
Here’s something to fret over when your head lands on the pillow tonight … despite all of their prowess up front, the Giants have yet to sack Donovan McNabb this season.
Any other concerns? Fire away.

The end is near for the bous from down the ‘pike. Wonderful.
Worries:
Stopping Westbrook-eat your cheerios AP
Defense-enough with giving up big plays!
Special teams-please be better
WRs-catch the ball
O-Line: protect Eli
Eli: Be smart
But, with all that..we will beat them.
they fought tooth and nail with the vikes, the same team that were palying for their playoff lives and needed a 50+ yarder to beat our BACK UPS.
i like out chances
The Giants lost by 6 the last time they played when the Giants were playing for nothing and the Eagles were playing for their lives. This Giant team has yet to falter with their backs against the wall – They responded pretty well when tested two weeks ago and I expect them to be absolutely viscious next week against the Eagles. The Vikings were the weakest team to make the playoffs this year.
McNabb celebrated at the end of tonight’s game like a man who had the weight of the world off his shoulders. He knew that one win in the playoffs was enough to guarantee him his starting job next year. Makes you wonder if that’s all he was playing for.
My concern is can the giants WR’s stretch the field.
I think Hixon is great but i dont think he is going to make that safety take a few “safety steps” to keep the bomb in check.
Hixon needs to really step up huge in this game and i think they need to come out first play and go deep.
you know that Jacobs and Ward are going to wear down the Defense. The eagles are going to come with the blitz which could really help up if we can pick it up and give Eli the extra second to make his reads.
But out of all that i feel the O and D lines are really the concern here. We need to give Eli time and we need to put Mcnabb on his @$$.
O line needs to prevent the inevitable big run by Westbrook and we are all good.
Eagles will play eight in the box and they will play press coverage without a doubt, game plan for it. As for the D sacking the QB is over rated pressure is the Key. As for Westbrook I think the G-Men can stop the run but you need to double him coming out of the backfield on screens and dump-offs.
Bottom line is:
The key to beating the Birds is stopping the run, they have no credible deep threats and if you force them to pass then they are suspect. Look at the game against the Vikes it was 16-14 for the longest time and the only TD that the birds scored was on defense. The reason this happened was that they could not run the ball and they had to pass.
This is what worries me.The Eagles are playing with a lot of emotion and winning on the road.Sound familiar? Could be a trap game if we expend all our energy and drive in beating the Eagles,as I am sure we will, but a letdown for the following weeks game could be the cost.
Taking down McNabb is no different than trying to take down Jacobs, why bother, just make him have to throw the ball and that will hold the running game down!
Mcnabb is like Pennington, get them confused and the wheels come off. Spag’s is going out in a blaze and he’s going to show the NFL what he can really do with this game. I don’t feel that there is a team out there than give our guy’s this kind of match-up!
Giants 27
Eagles 14 or 17.
Eagles score a later touchdown to make it respectible. No way do I see us not manhandle a mediocre team like the eagles at home for a chance to go to the nfc championship game as a step closer to our repeat.
Ponder,
they are playing with alot of emotions but you forget about our GIANTS???????
Winning on the road???? they lost to the redskins on teh road and only scored 3 points, and they could of easily lost that game yesterday to the vikings if they had any type of QB play….lets not get acarried away with the eagles.
