A matter of perspective

Apparently, the Giants really needed a week off.
Tom Coughlin was again singing the praises of down time after 13 consecutive games without a chance to come up for air.
“We have been cast into a situation where we had the bye,” he said. “You heard me say that I thought the bye was good for our team. I don’t know that I would necessarily say that every year, but in this case, I thought it was. And so therefore we worked, we studied, and had an opportunity to have a weekend without a game. Now we are back to work.”
Andy Reid had a different viewpoint since the Eagles were the last team in and were forced to endure a Wild Card outing.
“One advantage of having time off is you give guys an opportunity to rest, particularly the injured guys,” he said. “Old trends show that that mattered. The new trends show that that doesn’t matter.”
