Tuck has a mystery wrapped in an enigma

It’s funny how secretive teams are when it comes to divulging an injury.
There are no more games left to be played, no point in keeping the bumps and bruises under wraps. And we still don’t know what’s been slowing Justin Tuck down.
It’s still just lower leg injury.
“That was a combination of things where they really didn’t have a diagnosis on it,” Tuck said.
So is he scheduled for surgery?
“Not as of right now I’m not,” he said. “No.”
Is the knee the worst part?
“Maybe.”
A sideways nod from Tuck actually confirmed the knee was the biggest source of pain. So if surgery is required would it be on the knee?
“Nope.”
Is he going to the Pro Bowl?
“As of now, yes,” Tuck said.
Maybe we’ll never know.
“I got a few injuries, man,” Tuck said. “I can’t talk about injuries.”
But the season is over.
“There’s always next year,” he said.
Eventually, a grinning Tuck advised everyone to ask the coach about his injury. Guess how that turned out?
“It is going to need to be rested,” Tom Coughlin said. “Again, I am not a doctor and I couldn’t even quote you the way in which they categorized the injury. Painful, but it will take some time and I don’t believe right now, although one of the things we say to the players, of course, in that last meeting is if there are some surgeries required they have to be done right away so as not to interfere, but I don’t think this is a surgical procedure. I think they expect that with some time it will heal.”
Somebody should write that part down. Just in case.
