Burress has another court date

January
13

The way things are going, Plaxico Burress has to get himself straightened out so he can make an NFLĀ  comeback.

It’s the only logical way to pay off the lawyers.

Here’s another story about Burress failing on some level to live up to a deal. He apparently leased a truck and promised to do publicity for the dealership. Naturally, the car was impounded by the NYPD when it was loaned to an undisclosed third party.

Somebody has to pay for damages to the vehicle.

Talk about good timing. We just finished writing about the Giants not completely slamming the door shut to a possible return. Maybe next year.

Here’s the story:

Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa.—Plaxico Burress is in court again.

A trial is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Pennsylvania to determine how much the New York Giants wide receiver will have to pay in damages for a car he leased before it was impounded by the New York City police.

Court papers say Burress leased a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche worth more than $36,000 from a Lebanon County car dealer in exchange for promises to appear at publicity events.

But the civil complaint filed by car dealer Frederick Laurenzo says Burress never returned the car and did not show up to sign autographs. Laurenzo also says the car was seized by New York City police after Burress let someone else use it.

The complaint did not disclose the extent of the damage to the vehicle, to whom Burress loaned the vehicle or the reason police impounded it. Burress’ lawyer Matthew T. Croslis said he did not want to elaborate on the details of the case.

Croslis acknowledged Tuesday that Burress is responsible for some damage to the car, but said the jury will have to decide how much.

The star receiver who caught the game-winning pass in last year’s Super Bowl was charged with two counts of illegal weapons possession after he accidentally shot himself in the right thigh at a Manhattan nightclub on Nov. 29.

After the self-inflicted shooting, the Giants suspended Burress, 31, for the remainder of the season.

Sorry COughlins explanation is TOTALLY inaccurate.

Maybe the mix worked out OK but that is because they ran on 11 of the last 13 plays of the game!!!!!!

They ran in the 4th quarter when it was to late…

Killbride is a joke, this is not a 2nd guess this was a first guess bu me as I screamed at the TV over and over…

1st and five at the 20 yard line???empty backfield, 2 minutes left in the half.. after the 5 yard running play to Jacobs was called back because of the 2 minute warning.

Why is it not obvious to all GIlbride is a MORON..Until the last 2 drives of the game, the mix was way more passes then runs..There were 20 MPH winds

If you recall that happened in the 07 season when the giants hosted the redskins (the game shockey broke his leg)
the winds were terrible there…and sitting in the very last row of the statium i can confirm that the wind sucked that night.
So why did they pass so much that night. This is something that Gilbride needs to think about when he goes to the career killer Oakland. (has anyone heard about Gibril Wilson…dont think so cuz hes in Oakland).

Also i still hold out hope that Coach Spags stays with us to, like every other player on the team, get that sour taste out of their mouth next season.

Sounds like Rex Ryan is headed to the Jets. Someone needs to hire Jeff Jagodzinski as well after being fired from BC just for interviewing for a job. Mike Shanahan is still on the market, Marty Schottenheimer and Brian Billick are two huge coaching names that still could be picked up.

So lets hope Coach Stevie Spags I Love You loves being a Giant just as much as we love having him as a Giant.

On Burress: The car thing is “BS” and the tabloids will jump on it no matter what! WHO CARES!
Look guys, we can say the what “ifs” all we want the bottom line is that we have-had the biggest fastest running backs in the league and we did use them??? What was Gil-dull thinking, God only knows???
Pray for Spags to return is all we can do! I’m done with football for the year!!!
I hate the Eagles alway have! and the Cardinals??? give me a break!
I’ll pull for the Ravens only because my oldest friend lives in Baltimore. But he even calls them “Thugs” too!

Im going with the Steelers to win it all again.
