Sam says: Plaxico has to go

Hey all, Sam here. Just wanted to mention that I wrote a column in today’s paper and on LoHud.com saying that Plaxico Burress should NOT be back with the Giants next year. I know what the players have said and I know what Jerry Reese has said/intimated … and I still think it’s a bad idea.
Two questions for you:
1. Do you agree? If you do or don’t, click on the FACEOFF blog and share in the debate with Carp and me.
2. Who do you want to be the Giants WRs next year? Give me at least the top two. Personally, I’d like to see the Giants push every button they can to get Boldin out of Arizona. What’s your take?

anquan boldin, definetely on the top of the list. he’s young and physically gifted. Although i hear he has had knee issues in college, he has been fairly healthy so far in his career. I would def. invest in a 4 year contract for the 28 year old.
If Plexs get convicted (AND HE SHOULD)and goes to jail. Maybe the Giants can get him “Weekend Furloughs”. Not sure if I spelled that right. I mean, he doesn’t practice anyway. With all the things going on with this guy, if he doesn’t go to jail. The NFL should suspend him for the 2009 season. I guess the Giants put winning ahead of character.
Boldin is as the top of my trade charts right with Calvin Johnson.
Sign TJ Houshmanzedeh would at this point be the best idea because the Giants dont give up anything other than cap room.
With reports of Eli getting a new back loaded deal, they would have enough for him.
If Plax does happen to get off with a slap on the wrist, imagine that WR core with TJ, Plax and Smith.
Also Reese might trade his first and 4th or first and 2nd round picks and grab Crabtree from TT. He’s a huge target that loves to go get the ball and make big plays.
So here’s what I would do if i were Jerry Reese.
1st – Resign Jacobs and Ward
2nd – Ask Toomer to take a pay cut or release him
3rd – Sign TJ
4th – release Plax, file a grivence with the NFL PA and recoup all the money owed to him because he’s a dumbass.
5th – Trade my 1st and 2nd round picks (remember we had two thanks NO) for a top 10 pick to get Crabtree.
6th – Show Eli the money…but backload the deal.
7th – Make sure you have drafted another decent LB and DB.
8th – Tell Kiwi he’s needed more at DE.
9th – Look into the Tony G. trade, but most likely it wont get done
10th and most important – WIN THE SUPERBOWL AGAIN!!!!!
I think eric said exactly what i was thinking, and then some. The giants will have a great team if they can camplete that list.
Understand this that Plax attorney will plead-out this case and at that point the Giants will tell the union that it was all one big misstake, no harm no foul. He’ll be back! As far as Tony Gonzelez he’s had a great career but we don’t need him !! I’m a big BOSS “302” fan and he did great jobfor us this season! Shockey who??? After this season going into next he’ll be better than Rambo!!
