Owens needs a job, Giants need a receiver

March
5

Right now, the Giants aren’t commenting on the possibility of picking up Terrell Owens, a divisive force who’s reportedly on the loose.

Don’t get too excited.

The answer from a person familiar with the Giants’ thinking is no way, now how. Owens might be a playmaker, but he’s made three NFL stops and has way too much baggage. He’s certainly had reason to change, but the same old problems seem to surface over and over. Tom Coughlin would probably quit before accepting somebody this polarizing.

Just for kicks, would you risk it?

Owens might be the final piece of the puzzle here. The fuse is always lit, though. Do you pick him up and hope the blowup comes after the parade down the Canyon of Heros?

No way, no how. Eli got better when shockey left, and this guy is 10 times worse than shockey was – asking for the ball every play. nNt to mention he is the opposite of the ‘team concept’ and I just cant root for him (except when he’s on my fantasy team, ha).

Now Holt is an interesting name if he gets released…

  2. Kyle (Syracuse)

The sight of T.O. in a Giants jersey might be reason enough for me to jump off a high tower or bridge. Please, get him as FAR away from New York as possible. He would ruin everything the team has worked for years to rebuild.

TO is probably not the right choice here.

What are your thoughts on the Giants going after SS Roy Williams now that he is available as well?

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!
Someone call Al Davis!! he loves drama!!!

The only plausable option would be stictly a one year deal. But Jerry Reese is A LOT smarter than that.
    It will NEVER happen.
Although it does look like the giants are making their moves in FA so they can make a big trade…Bolden or moving way up the the draft.

They could probably get Crabtree at #5.
    Detroit doesnt need a WR
Rams need to focus on D
KC needs to focus on D
    Seattle just signed Housh
Cleveland could be the first team with a need for a WR. Edwards sucked last year and they got rid of Winslow.

    The G-men could trade up for that…possibly a 1,2 round and manningham…
    looks pretty good.

    forgot to mention

    Crabtree or Heyward-Bey

if Plax comes back then i think Heyward-Bey would be a better fill because Crabtree will want to be the big cheese and Plax will get that attention.

Either or would be fine by me.

  7. Starks

I would give him a one year incentive-laiden contract, take it or leave it TO….other then that no way I would want him.

    NAHHHHT.

No matter who I talk to and no matter what race creed everyone I’ve spoken to has said keep that volture away from our camp!!!
If Bill Parcells couldn’t tame that beast no one can!!
Maybe the best WR to ever play the game but there is no “I” in TEAM!! Go Raiders!!! they can have him!!!
    Ramses Barden!!! remember that name!!!

    ERIC,

Sorry to tell you, but heyward-bey is a track star turned college wide receiver. He will NOT make it in the NFL with ANY team!!! Speed alone doesn’t do it!!! Don’t feel alone because there are TONs of other people who think the GIANTS will be “fixed” by “their” choice of WR in the draft. SORRY seen too many drafts to not know that a rookie WR DOESN’T help a team very often!!!! DeSean Jackson is a recent exception, but even there he wasn’t pro bowl!!

I bet Crabtree doesn’t do anything in his entire NFL “career”
WATCH!!! ( he’s a boy playin with MEN… BAD MEN!!!)

  11. Paul

Didn’t he just sign with Buffalo?

  12. Big Dan

Yeah he did. I don’t think anybody saw that coming.

  13. Colour1

“WTF” was Buffalo thinking??? they were one maybe two players from being a Championship team???
NOW????? Play taps now! Buffalo will never recover from this!!!
I heard that, off the record that the owners said that 30 out of 32 would NOT take him!! Now that he’s on a NY team (even though Buffalo isn’t a NY team it’s really Canadian)we’ll have to be subjected to reading about him???Shoot me now!

  14. Starks

This is all about PUB for the Bills, this will give them extra air time, a few games on national tv, but overall this will not make them a better team.. THe Bills have glaring holes all through out their roster, namely their O-line, and if trent edwards who is an avg qb at best can not stand up, TO will be having a melt down…

Here is his chance along with Lee Evans to put up some big numbers for another big contract and they wont get the chance, even so OWens will drop a ton of balls in that cold weather up there….this is much different situation then the Eagles, and Cowboys.

And when the Bills start losing, oh oh watch out…

  15. Starks

on top of that, no other team wanted him…the bills one of two MAYBE….there is no way he would have went there if another team was in the mix.
