Me Again…

Howdy, folks. Me again, for just a short time while I tend to some personal business.
First of all, I want to thank Sam Borden for sitting in on the Draft Day jam session for me. I know it was a change for Sam, going from sports columnists mode to blue-collar working stiff, but I heartily appreciate the big assist. After tonight, I officially release you to return to your regular affairs, taking with you all rights and privileges of Ernie Knighthood as Sir Sam of Borden.
There is no money attached to this honor.
Second, the old poll had more than 50 percent of you wanting Jerry Reese to trade for a veteran wide receiver. How’d that work out for ya? Now, I don’t want to brag, because it was as much a shot in the dark as anything, but I did call the pick, didn’t I? First one I had right in about 10 years, I’d say.
Last, we have a new poll up. What did you think of the pick? As usual, vote, and then leave the comments here. We’ll keep it up until Monday.
I’ll be back tomorrow to wrap up the draft with you. Until then, happy drafting!

the pick is great. here’s the thing that keeps nagging me:
The giants basically have a team that can return to the superbowl. last season, they were poised to do just that, but they just couldnt overcome their weakness at WR. Ultimately, that’s what did them in. Unless reese and co. feel that the group of WR’s they have right now will be able to do what they couldnt do last year(without plax) then the giants are probably looking at another playoff exit. The giants should have got a veteran. there were a couple available that could’ve really helped this team get back to the SB. If they dont make it this year, how many more years does this team have to wait? Eli couldnt make up for the loss of plax, and the guys we have just cannot provide the huge target area for eli to loft it up there and let plax snatch it away from everyone else. I dont think the math got in the way of just getting the best deal done for the team. good pick, but the draft/trade strategy this year may cost us a return trip to SB.
correction.. I DO THINK the math got in the way of getting the best deal for the team, done.
we’ve been so focused on the giants need for WRs, and rightfully so. but how about a new question: who’s going to cover the Eagles 2 speedsters when they line up together – Maclin and Jackson side by side?
