Oh, Really?

If agent Drew Rosenhaus isn’t just pulling a bunch of cyberlegs on his twitter account, his client Plaxico Burress is getting serious interest from at least two NFL teams.
They do realize he’s probably going to jail, right?
And even if he doesn’t, he’s probably going out for a long league-levied suspension.
What do you think that says about the state of NFL coaches and owners who would even talk to him in light of all that?

I still say they should not have cut Plax. There’s still no guarantee he’ll get jail time, and the inevitable league imposed suspension probably won’t be for the whole year (First offense; victimless crime; etc…). In theory, he could have been back for the end of the season just in time for a Superbowl run. Even a rusty Plax would be an upgrade over what they currently have. I think the rookies will be good in two or three years, but rookie WR’s not named “Moss, Randy” tend to struggle.
What a bummer.
Ernie – there might be two kinds of coaches:
1) The guy who thinks he can get through to Plax and control him
2) The guy who’s willing to make a deal with the devil for a year, and expects a blowup later on
I’d bet a lot that any contract he signs will include behavior clauses.
It might be a sucker bet – but this doesn’t shock me
