Accorsi to consult for NFL

June
16

There’s at least one area where Ernie Accorsi will be setting Jerry Reese’s schedule.

Accorsi, the former Giants general manager who many say constructed the team which eventually won the Super Bowl, is taking his expertise to the NFL league offices.

He has been hired to co-chair a general managers advisory committee to look at how well [...]

Giants rings stolen

June
11

As if concerns about Jeremy Shockey, Michael Strahan and Plaxico Burress weren’t enough, the Giants have something else to worry about—Super Bowl  rings which were to be given to staffers. The championship rings were taken in an old fashioned jewelry heist.

Here is the Associated Press report:

Strahan speaks

June
10

After a day where he was praised by teammates, and received emails and texts from friends and athletes from every corner, Michael Strahan spoke for himself.

May
28

The Giants will finally get their Super Bowl rings tomorrow night during a ring ceremony at Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue store.

Four players, Eli Manning, Michael Strahan, Amani Toomer and Shaun O’Hara, helped jewelers design the ring.

And it’s big, with 1.5 carats in diamonds. This ceremony means that the celebrations are drawing to an end. [...]

Giants sign seven

May
12

But nope, Edgemont’s Matt Bernstein was not one of the players included.

So in the wake of last weekend’s rookie minicamp, the Giants signed DT Brian Soi (Utah), DT Nate Robinson (Akron), DE Alex Morrow (USC), DB Miguel Scott (NC State), Terrance Stringer (Tuskegee), long snapper Nick Leeson (Virginia Tech) and OL Jacob Hobbs (U of [...]

Never say never

May
9

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, Edgemont’s Matt Bernstein was given another chance at football. That’s the moment the Wisconsin graduate got the message from his agent Justin Schulman that the Giants wanted him to report to their rookie minicamp to fill a fullback tryout spot. Truth is, if Bernstein’s home town wasn’t just 40 minutes up [...]
